About This Project

Founded in 2009 and backed by the Blue Ridge Foundation NY, Blue Engine provides college graduates a unique opportunity to engage in one year of direct service designed to accelerate academic achievement in US high-need public high schools. Commune worked with Blue Engine to build an brand strategy & identity system for use across all digital and print communications. This included a fully content managed online platform that has scaled in step with the organization over two years.

We recently curated an installation in a studio space for their annual fundraiser in NY. The installation included print, video production and lighting design. Prior to the event we collected audio vignettes and stories from stakeholders, students and Blue Engine’s executive board to connect with potential funders, stakeholders and attendees. The result raised $0.5M for Blue Engine over the course of the fundraiser.

In 2014 Blue Engine was recognized by President Obama as a high impact national service program in addition to recognition from the Clinton Global Initiative in 2012.
